Reindeer - simple kids craft

I am in charge of our Kids Night program at work, which means I get to plan and execute simple, fun crafts and activities for kids every Wednesday night. Tonight's craft was a simple one that I remember doing as a youngster, the craft stick reindeer!
Rudolph has come to play!

Items Needed (per reindeer):
3 craft/popsicle sticks
1 red pompom
2 wiggly eyes
dab glue (i.e., Elmers, etc)
ribbon/string (optional)

Directions:
Lay one craft stick horizontally. You may wish to use this time to engage in educational chitchat about the shape of triangles, the letter A, reindeer and Christmas in general, or bionucleophysics. It's up to you.

Dab a spot of glue about a half inch from the ends of said craft stick and lay down another craft stick at an angle. Dab glue on the end of that craft stick and place the third (or have the child place it) to create the A-shape. The extra sticking out on two ends forms antler-ish-thingies.

Now give the point of the A-shape a nice dollop of glue and plop a red pompom on it. Finish up with wiggly eyes, and perhaps a string or ribbon to hang it, and you're done. When you've done a few of these, they can be completed in less than 30 seconds flat - and little kids' eyes light up seeing the craft sticks come to life as their very own Rudolph...or Donner or Blitzen or whomever you like. In fact, you can substitute a brown or black pompom for the red one and make Santa's whole herd. Does he call them a herd? What do you call a group of reindeer?

The pompom takes the longest to dry, so I advise letting the craft sit horizontally for quite a while before moving it. The reindeer can be tree ornaments, greeting-card decorations, scrapbook embellishments, small back scratchers, or anything else you particularly need at the moment. I don't advise using them as can openers, though.

Merry Christmas!

Introduction

Hi world! We're the 2 Ks - Bek[ah] and Kay[tlyn]. We met several months ago and have become great friends (we laugh like sisters!). Due to work and school schedules, we aren't able to spend a lot of time together, but when we do hang out we enjoy watching movies, sharing snacks, and working on projects. The projects don't always turn out perfect (rock candy was a flop, and if we try again we'll keep you updated), but we always have fun doing them!

Pinterest is one great source of crafting ideas. Other ideas come from nature, are suggested by friends, or are simply a product of the "kreativity" within ourselves.

So, why not join us as we explore and create? We encourage feedback and would love to hear your ideas!
